Presentation on Values & Ethics in Cyberspace
The Civil Society Caucus on Ethics and Values held an official side-event of the second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society, at which I was invited as presenter and panel member.
According to Durkheim the achievement of modernity is the possibility for the dynamic differentiation of values. In this sense a paradigmatic philosophy of entrepreneurship as a set of values, or mindset, beyond commercialization and business is proposed. Entrepreneurship is defined as the practice of identifying, assessing and realizing any kind of opportunity. After presenting the components of an entrepreneurial mindset the question of what would be the effects on the society at large in case entrepreneurship as world view became popular is played through.
